ILONKA CAR Peacefully, on Thursday, August 7, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre, Ilonka Car, beloved wife of Stefan, passed away at the age of 81 years. Ilonka will be lovingly remembered by her husband Stefan of 42 years; her brother John (Marie) Malacic of Slovenija; special friends, Victor (Rita) Veren; and many other extended family and friends in Canada and Europe. Ilonka was born on January 1, 1922 in Krizevci, Slovenija, and moved to Winnipeg in 1958. She enjoyed her many travels with her husband Stefan, as well as gardening and sewing. Ilonka took much pleasure in cooking and baking, and her home was always open for entertaining friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thank you to Dr. Griggs and nurses Betty, Alice, Anna and Pepper, all of the 9th floor of Central Park Lodge, 440 Edmonton St., for their special care and kindness over the years. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
